| 2006 Third Quarter Test ReportLaurentian Valley Water Works manages just over 14 kilometres of water main and branch lines in the Township. Laurentian Valley Water Works received its Certificate #2893 as a Water Distribution System Class 1 in November of 2000 which was reclassified to a Water Distribution Subsystem Class 1 in August of 2005. The Drinking Water System Information number for Laurentian Valley Water Works is W260007465. This is the third report for 2006. Laurentian Valley Township has a water servicing agreement with the City of Pembroke. The water is purchased from the city and distributed in the Stafford Village area, part of Pembroke Street East and part of Pembroke Street West. The City treats and tests the water at the Pembroke Filtration Plant on Riverside Drive and tests the water in their distribution system. The Municipality tests the water in its distribution system. This report and the Certificates of Analysis are available to the general public at the front counter of the Municipal Office at 460 Witt Road during office hours. Quality AnalysisWater sampling was conducted by Claus Trost, Water Quality Analyst, Certificate number 12228.The water samples were sent to Caduceon Laboratories Inc. in Ottawa for analysis. Caduceon is an ODWS Accredited laboratory. The results of the analysis are faxed back to the Municipality. The following chart is a summary of those test results. Third Quarter Water Quality Results
ComplaintsThere were no water quality complaints received in the third quarter of 2006. Staffing & TrainingLaurentian Valley Waterworks has 1 Water Quality Analyst, 2 operators certified Water Distribution- Class 1 and two Operators in Training. ConstructionThere was no new construction undertaken in the third quarter of 2006. MaintenanceThere was one water main break in the third quarter, On September 6, a 12" main saddle and 7' of 3/4" poly line was replaced in front of 638 First Avenue. Ministry of the EnvironmentOn August 2, 2006 the Municipality received the Compliance Inspection 2006/2007 Report by Kara Smith, Inspector of the Safe Drinking Water Branch. Her inspection was conducted on June 21, 2006. The only required action was to correct the typographical error in the 2005 Annual Report and to duplicate the documentation of the 2005 Ministry Inspection Report. This was completed on August 31, 2006. SummaryIn the third quarter of 2006, The water works purchased 14,725,370 gallons of water from the City of Pembroke and distributed it to 566 homes and businesses. Water quality analysis has revealed no incident of adverse water quality.
