This report and the Certificates of Analysis are available to the general public at the front counter of Municipal Office at 460 Witt Road during office hours. TestingWater sampling was conducted by Claus Trost, Water Quality Analyst, Certificate number 12228. The water samples were sent to Caduceon Laboratories Inc. in Ottawa for analysis. Caduceon is an ODWS Accredited laboratory. The results of the analysis are faxed back to the Municipality. The following chart is a summary of those test results. Quality AnalysisSecond Quarter Water Quality Results
NOTE: 1On May 29, 2003 Laurentian Valley Water Works was advised by the City of Pembroke Filtration Plant that they had an equipment malfunction. The Alum feeder had stopped for a short period. This resulted in some water being distributed with an elevated turbidity reading. Laurentian Valley Water Work's staff checked their distribution system and determined that none of this water reached our area. The water was checked for clarity and chlorine residuals were verified. COMPLAINTSWhile checking the water during the May 29, 2003 incident, the main on Roy Street was flushed. This resulted in some short term, local turbidity because the steel main in this area was disturbed. Ministry of EnvironmentOn April 1, 2003 Gary Roberts, an investigations officer from the Ministry questioned Claus Trost about the adverse water quality incident of May 9, 2002. Claus wrote a statement of the events and faxed and mailed it to Mr. Roberts on April 2, 2003. Staffing and TrainingLaurentian Valley Waterworks has 2 operators certified WD-1 and has started another operator in training. On April 8, 2003 Morris Schneider and Claus Trost attended a meeting at the City of Pembroke. The Town of Petawawa and the Renfrew County Health Unit was also in attendance. The meeting was organized to discuss water issues of mutual concern. MaintenanceThere were no water service breaks in the second quarter of 2003. ConstructionThe water main at the First Pemstar property was extended to the new Canadian Tire Store by Holloway Equipment. The main was super chlorinated, flushed and tested. SummaryIn the second quarter of 2003, the Municipality purchased 22,380,624 gallons of water from the City of Pembroke and distributed it to 521 homes and businesses.
