In order to evaluate the technical and financial aspects of possible waste diversion facilities, detailed proposals were received from a short list of three pre-qualified contractors. The pre-qualified contractors were selected through a review of seven Expressions of Interest/Statements of Qualification received by the Township of Laurentian Valley.

Following a detailed review of the proposals received,in consultation with the Public and extensive negotiations with the respondents, separate Design/Build Contracts were awarded for implementation of a MRF and a Composting Facility. A third Contract will be tendered in the spring of 2001 for site works, a new maintenance and administration/staff facility and to prepare an area on-site for the temporary storage of C&D waste which will be processed using a tub grinder.
