That the Council of the Township of Laurentian Valley approves of the following Contract Change Order for the Composting Facility by Westeinde Construction Ltd.: Contract Change Order No. 15B - Lump Sum $1,666.51 plus G.S.T. CARRIED.

That the Township of Laurentian Valley oppose the placement of a 30-month moratorium on regulated hunting and trapping of wolves in the 39 Townships surrounding Algonquin Provincial Park. As noted in the regulatory impact statement of the EBR posting, “the number of wolves that have been taken in the area in recent years is low”.
In keeping with the recommendations of the Algonquin Wolf Advisory Group, the Township of Laurentian Valley recommend instead the following:
- Maintaining the December 15 to March 31 closed seasons for hunting and trapping of wolves in the Townships of Hagarty, Richards and Burns.
- Closed seasons for the hunting and trapping of wolves that extend all year in the Townships of Finlayson, McClintock, Livingstone and Airy.
- A closed season for the hunting of wolves that extends from December 16 to September 14 and a closed season for the trapping of wolves that extends from February 16 to October 24 in the Townships of Ballantyne, Boulter, Calvin, Papineau, Head, Maria, Wylie, Chisholm, Lauder, Boyd, Cameron, Clara, Rolph, McKay, Paxton, McCraney, Franklin, Butt, Sinclair, Havelock, Harburn, Eyre, Sabine, Dickens, Murchison, Burns, Hagarty, Richards, Fraser, Dudley, Harcourt, McClure and Herschel.
And further that the Township of Laurentian Valley recommend the foregoing seasons be implemented simultaneously with the other recommendations of the Algonquin Wolf Advisory Group, especially habitat improvements within Algonquin Provincial Park. CARRIED.

That the Council of the Township of Laurentian Valley authorize an advance of $72,670.00 to the Ottawa Valley Waste Management Board of a portion of its share of the 2002 operating budget. CARRIED.
BY-LAWS:
By-Law Number 02-01-119, being a By-Law to establish minimum and desirable roadway service standards for the Township of Laurentian Valley road system and to repeal By-Law Number 948-11-95 of the (former) Township of Stafford and By-Law Number 96-13 and 99-3 of the (former) Township of Alice & Fraser was given three readings and passed on a motion by Steve Bennett and Kellard Witt.
By-Law Number 02-01-120, being a Rezoning By-Law (Brandon Suckow) was given three readings and passed on a motion by Allan Wren and Jim Sheedy.
By-Law Number 02-01-121, being a By-Law for the confirmation of the acquisition of property in the geographic Township of Alice, in the County of Renfrew, described as Part of Lot 22, Concession 1, Alice as in R316362, geographic Township of Alice & Fraser, now in the Township of Laurentian Valley, being all of PIN 57119-0171(LT) for municipal purposes was given three readings and passed on a motion by Kellard Witt and Rick O’Brien.
