The LVP Broadband Initiative - Laurentian Valley Petawawa, is pleased to announce a Series of Free Internet Courses to be held in association with the Petawawa Public Library on Wednesdays from April 21st, 2010 to July 7th, 2010, at the Petawawa Public Library locared at 16 Civic Centre Road, Petawawa, Ontario.

There are four different courses You’ve Got Mail; Don’t Get Caught in the Web; Movies, Music and More; and the World at Your Fingertips - the Internet as a Social Networking Tool.  To reserve your spot contact the Petawawa Public Library at 613-687-2227, Extension 22.

Courses will be held from 6:30 pm until 7:30 pm. There are four different courses as follows:

YOU’VE GOT MAIL
Learn how to set up an email account, open and send attachments and
discover all the tricks to sending and
receiving mail.
April 21st, May 19th or June 16th

DON’T GET CAUGHT IN THE WEB
Learn the skills to quickly and effectively search the Internet and look up websites. Learn where to find safe sights, use the Library’s website to search our online catalogue, databases and more.
April 28th, May 26th or June 23rd

MOVIES, MUSIC AND MORE
Your Computer as a Download Centre
Learn how to download movies and music from
reputable sites. Learn how to use Overdrive and Net
Library to download talking books. Also learn how to download content to an Mp3 player.
May 5th, June 2nd or June 30th

THE WORLD AT YOUR FINGERTIPS
THE INTERNET AS A SOCIAL NETWORKING TOOL                                                                                                                             Stay in Touch with people no matter where they are in the world by learning how to use social networking tools such as Skype, Instant Messaging, Facebook and Flickr.
