Mayor Wilson is serving his 46th year as a member of Council, having served on the council's of the pre-amalgamation municipalities and on the Laurentian Valley municipal Council since amalgamation in 2000.

As Head of Council, Mayor Wilson serves as Ex-Officio to all Standing Committees of Council. Mayor Wilson also represents Laurentian Valley on the Renfrew County Council.

Mayor Wilson will complete 50 consecutive years as a municipal council member at the conclusion of the 2010 to 2014 term.

Mayor Wilson is a local farmer of long tradition, and resides in Laurentian Valley on his farm with his wife Evelyn.
